How do I know the trim of my car?
I want to take my car to a mechanic for some routine maintenance, but I’ve been told that I’ll need to know my car’s trim level before going. Where do I find my car’s trim level?

If you want to know the trim of your car, the best place to check first is the owner’s manual. That’s probably your best bet for finding your two-letter trim level.
Can’t find the trim level there? Don’t panic, there are a bunch of other places you can check such as:
- Sales invoice from when you first purchased the car
- Window sticker, if it’s still on your car
- Driver’s side doorjamb
- Center console
- Glove box
- Engine compartment
- Rear or side of the vehicle
Your trim level will certainly be in one of those places! And, if all else fails and you’re already seeing a mechanic, you can always ask them as well. Just make sure to jot it down for future reference!
