There are many possible reasons you’ve got low oil pressure. Thankfully, most of the solutions are simple and inexpensive.
One likely culprit is either a low oil level or an obstructed oil filter. To fix this, head to a Jiffy Lube or local mechanic and get an oil change. This can get your oil pressure back to normal.
The viscosity of your oil may also be to blame. If your oil isn’t thick enough, it may cause the oil pressure to be too low. Check your owner’s manual to confirm you’re using the correct viscosity of oil.
The cause may also be for more serious issues, like a worn-out engine or leak in your oil pan. For these problems, head to a mechanic to get your vehicle back in working condition.
