We’re glad you’re taking the time to care for your car. You can fix cracked primer with the right tools and a little handiwork.
You’ll need to gather the following materials to fix your car’s primer:
- Degreaser
- Sponge
- Sandpaper (around 2000 grit)
- Car primer
- Touch-up paint
- Car wax
Here’s what you’ll need to do:
- Clean off the cracked area with a degreasing cleaner and sponge.
- Sand lightly. Be sure not to sand the sheet metal below the paint.
- Apply a new coat of primer on the sanded area.
- Wait for the primer to dry.
- Use touch-up paint to paint the affected area.
- Wax the newly painted area for shine.
