I was driving my car yesterday when I smelled burning oil. I drove home immediately and parked my car in the garage. . Depending on the cause of the leak you can fix an engine oil leak by tightening the drain plug or using a stop oil leak additive. Here’s how to fix an engine oil leak:
- Locate the source of the leak.
- Tighten the drain plug or oil filter if either is leaking.
- Pour a stop oil leak additive into the engine oil to temporarily fix a leaky gasket seal.
- Top off engine oil levels.
- Run your car engine and check for leaks.
