How do I fix a car thermostat that is stuck open?
When the check engine light in my car came on and I discovered the thermostat is stuck open. I know this is a serious problem but I don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars to fix it at a mechanic. How do I fix a car thermostat that is stuck open?

To fix a thermostat that if stuck open you will:
- Park your car on a flat surface and allow the engine to cool
- Locate the thermostat
- Remove the radiator cap
- Disconnect the radiator hoses from the engine
- Replace the valves in the thermostat hoses
- Top off antifreeze fluidlevels
If the problem continues, you’ll have to replace the thermostat altogether.
