Discovering your
car insurance
provider is surprisingly easy, so don’t stress!
First, you should check your car, specifically the center console or the glove box, for
proof of insurance
. If you find an ID card, it should list the name of the insurance company on it.
If you don’t find anything in your car, check your email. Most companies now use electronic delivery for policy documents. You can search keywords like:
  • Car insurance
  • Car insurance policy
  • Policy number
  • Renewal
  • Insurance payment
A combination of these words should bring up any information about your car insurance company. You can also check your phone for an insurance app. Insurance companies often have apps that allow you to access your policy information.
Should you be unable to find anything with that, you could try the DMV. Almost every state requires car insurance, so the DMV will likely have a record of your car insurance policy.
In the future, you may want to try an app like
Jerry
. Jerry is a free app and licensed broker that offers end-to-end support right in your pocket. With Jerry, you’ll have easy access to all of your policy information, including the name of your insurance company.
