will help make up the difference between your car loan and the actual cash value (ACV) of your vehicle if it’s deemed a total loss. If the accident constitutes a total loss and you owe more on your vehicle than it’s worth, then you can file a gap insurance claim.
You’d file a claim with your
car insurance
company, lender, or car dealership, depending on who manages your gap insurance. You’ll likely need the information on your:
- lease/car loan
- original sales agreement
- gap insurance contract.
