How do I draw a Hot Wheels car step by step?

We accidentally threw out our four-year-old’s Hot Wheels cars with the garbage. Now, they’re demanding I draw an accurate representation (their words) of their favorite car. How do I draw a Hot Wheels car step by step?

Considering your cardinal sin of giving the heave-ho to your child’s Hot Wheels, I feel compelled to help however I can!
Here’s how to draw a Hot Wheels car step by step to recreate your child’s favorite toy while salvaging your reputation as a cool parent. First, grab a pencil and some paper—or did you throw that out, too? (Kidding!)
  1. To start, draw two circles near the bottom of the page for the inner wheels, either free-hand or with a compass.
  2. Draw two larger circles around the smaller circles—you’ve got wheels!
  3. Sketch out a long rectangle, connecting both wheels to form your car’s foundation—the bumper.
  4. Form the car’s body with downward, curved lines from one end of your bumper to the other. Start with a smaller curved line to outline the engine bay and then a bigger curved line to form the cabin.
  5. Inside the cabin, draw a curved line that follows the roof’s outline, then connect both points of the curved line at a 90-degree angle, facing left—this is your front window.
  6. Do the reverse to draw the rear window—your 90-degree angle will be right-facing, connecting the ends of the curved line and forming the rest of your car’s back window.
  7. Draw a square—your front door—below the front window. Make sure it is aligned evenly (your kid wants an accurate representation, remember?).
  8. Add details like the door handle, lights, and the word Destroyer in cursive on the door (your kid wants accurate, we’re sure you haven’t forgotten).
  9. Draw diagonal lines across the windows to give them a realistic look.
