How do I clean my headlights with WD-40?

I overheard someone talking about using WD-40 to wash their headlights—can you really do that? How do you clean headlights with WD-40?

That’s true! WD-40 can be used for many things and cleaning your headlights is certainly one of them! It’s not the most effective headlight cleaner in the world, but it can help to defog your lenses in a pinch. If you’re wanting to try it out in the future, follow these steps:

Wash your headlight lenses thoroughly with soap and water to ensure that all heavy dirt and dust is removed.

Take a can of WD-40 and shake it up before spraying the lubricant into the headlight lens (make sure to only spray the lens, keeping it away from your car’s metal areas, as this could cause damage).

Use a clean rag or microfiber cloth to carefully and gently wipe off the WD-40 from the lens.

Now you know how to use WD-40 to clean your headlights—hope it helps!
