How do I check the tire pressure on a Kia Telluride?

My car feels a bit wonky when I turn, and I wonder if it’s a tire pressure problem. How can I find out what pressure my tires are at on a Kia Telluride?

You can check the tire pressure on your
Kia Telluride
by looking at the vehicle’s Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) or by using a good old-fashioned manual tire pressure gauge.
To check tire pressure using the TPMS, use the steering wheel-mounted controls to navigate to the TPMS on your LCD dash cluster. The TPMS will show you the tire pressure of each tire, however, if your wheels are not equipped with a tire pressure sensor, your TPMS will not show a tire pressure reading.
Not to worry, though. If your TPMS can’t give you a tire pressure reading, you can still check your tire pressure manually with a
tire pressure gauge
. Here’s what to do:
  • Remove the valve stem cap from your vehicle’s tire
  • Press the tire pressure gauge head to the tire valve to get a reading
  • If the tire is low, add air
  • If the tire’s pressure is too high, release air by pressing on the valve with a screwdriver or key
  • Repeat this process until the tire has reached the proper tire pressure and do the same for the other three tires on the vehicle
The proper tire pressure for a Kia Telluride is 35 psi. If you’re not sure how much air to put in your tires, you can find this information in your Kia Telluride owner’s manual or by looking at the sticker on the driver’s-side door jamb.
It is recommended that you check your tire pressure at least
once a month
to ensure proper inflation. Improperly inflated tires can cause a decrease in fuel efficiency and can compromise your steering ability, which can lead to costly accidents and skyrocketing
car insurance
rates.
