How do I check my driving record for free?

Is there a way to check my driving record without paying for it? I can’t afford to waste any money on my driving record, but I want to know what made my insurance rates spike last month.

Unfortunately, it’s not typically possible to check your driving record for free. This is because the only certified place to get your driving record is your state government, which requires a service or convenience fee in order to show you your record.
You could also talk to your insurer to learn more about why
your rates increased
. It’s entirely possible that traffic tickets could have caused your insurance rates to spike, but it’s also possible that there’s another culprit.
