How do I check my car insurance claim status?

Two weeks ago, I accidentally hit a deer that came out of nowhere and promptly filed a claim. I have comprehensive coverage with my provider, so I know that it's covered, but my car is still in the shop and I'm looking at a bill that keeps climbing higher and higher. Is there a way to check the status of my car insurance claim, just for some peace of mind?

First of all, I am so sorry that that happened. Second, you can check the status of your insurance claim by contacting your claims adjuster directly.
Most states have a required timeframe to complete claim payouts, and comprehensive claims shouldn’t take longer than 30 days.
