How do I check if my car insurance is active?
I purchased a policy two months ago. I made a down payment to start a policy, but my insurer hasn't taken another payment. How do I check that my car insurance is still active?

To check if your
car insurance
policy is still active, speak with your car insurance company directly or access your policy information online or through their mobile app.You should also check your mail and email. Your car insurance company is required to mail you a notice of cancellation before they cancel your policy. They may have also sent an email indicating your policy is pending cancellation.
As a failsafe, look through your bank statements as well. Search your car insurance company’s name to see if any additional payments show up. If you have a copy of your
policy’s declaration page
, check the date you started your policy. Your next payment would normally be due 30 days after that.A possibility exists that you either missed the payment coming out of your bank or it hasn’t been a full 30 days yet.
