How do I change the headlight on a 2008 Ford Taurus?
I like to save money by doing simple repairs myself, but I am trying to change the lightbulb on my 2008 Ford Taurus headlight and I can’t get to it from under the hood like I can in my other car. So how do I change the headlight bulb on my Taurus?

is no exception. There are a couple of extra steps to replace your headlight bulb in a Taurus, but it can still be done pretty easily with an 8mm wrench and a pair of pliers
. To remove and change the headlight on a 2008 Ford Taurus, you need to **take out the headlight assembly first. **
To remove the headlight assembly you will need a pair of needle-nosed pliers, and an extended 8mm socket wrench.
- Use the needle-nosed pliers to remove the retaining pins on the top of the assembly.
- Pull the headlight assembly off gently—you may need to wiggle it side to side a bit.
To replace the bulbs:
- Locate the socket cover on the back of the headlight assembly, and turn it counterclockwise to remove it and expose the bulb socket.
- Turn the socket retainer counterclockwise to remove it from the assembly and access the bulb.
- Press the retaining clip on the side of the socket, and pull out the bulb. Replace with your new bulb, and reassemble the headlight.

clean and de-fog
