How do I change the battery in my Toyota RAV4 key?
I can’t find instructions for replacing the battery in my car key. The remote lock/unlock stopped working unless I’m right next to my car so I assume a fresh battery would fix the problem. How do you install a new battery in a Toyota RAV4 key?

Toyota RAV4
key, just follow these steps:- Use a flathead screwdriver to carefully pry the two halves of the plastic part of the key apart.
- Remove the module from inside the key.
- Carefully, pry the module open with the flathead screwdriver or the edge of a coin.
- Remove the old battery from its housing, noting where the positive and negative ends go.
- Replace the old battery with a new CR2016 battery.
- Snap the module closed and replace it inside the key.
- Snap the key closed and test the remote to make sure that it works.
