How do I change the battery in my Toyota key fob?
Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve noticed I have to get closer and closer to use the key fob for my Prius. I hear that the decrease in range is likely due to a weak battery. How do you replace the battery in a Toyota remote?

key fob in just a few steps:- Check your owner’s manual to find out what type of battery you will need to purchase, then purchase it. It should only cost about $2.
- Press the metal button above the manual key to remove it from its housing.
- Use a small screwdriver to pry your key fob open.
- Carefully remove the circuit board, and you should see the battery underneath.
- Remove the battery and place the new one in the same position.
- Press your key fob back together.
Now that you have successfully changed the battery in your Toyota remote, you should be able to enjoy the convenience of unlocking your vehicle from a farther distance.
