How do I cancel a car insurance claim?
A week ago, I accidentally scratched my brand-new car while driving on a road that was overgrown with thorn bushes. In a panic, I filed a claim. However, the damage turned out to be much less than I figured, and I would rather pay out of pocket than risk my premium going up. Is there any way I can cancel a car insurance claim?

I’m happy to give you good news here, though—you can easily cancel a car insurance claim by calling your your insurance carrier’s claims department.The main exception to this is when you are at-fault for an accident and another driver files a claim against you. You would not be able to cancel that claim.
If you’re unhappy with your current coverage, it might be time to look around for a new provider.
