How can I test my vision for driving?

I’m a little worried that I might not pass the vision test for driving, so I’m hoping that there’s a way for me to test my vision in advance. I can see fine when I’m wearing my glasses, but definitely not without them! How can I check my vision on my own?

If you can see fine with your glasses, you’ll probably just be required to wear your glasses whenever you drive! If you’d still like to test your vision for driving, however, the best way to do so is to visit an eye doctor for a checkup. While
first-time drivers
can test their vision themselves, it’s difficult to self-assess your eyes since you can’t see firsthand how they behave.
For a more general check, you’ll need to make sure that you can read the 20/40 line on an eye exam chart. However, the DMV will also test your peripheral vision, which can be difficult to test on your own.
