Does a Toyota extended warranty cover the battery?
I want to buy an extended warranty for my new Toyota. However, I’m not sure if it covers every aspect of my vehicle. If the battery goes kaput, will the Toyota extended warranty cover the battery?

Congrats on your new Toyota! Unfortunately, the
Toyota
extended warranty will not cover the battery unless the dealership or mechanic determines that the battery died as a the result of a manufacturer’s defect. That said, a hybrid battery is covered for up to 10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first.However, if you replace the battery at a Toyota dealership or certified mechanic, the replacement battery comes with a 24-month warranty. If the battery dies within that time frame, Toyota will replace it at no charge to you.
