How can I tell if my car has the original factory-installed remote start?
How do I know if my used car has a factory-installed remote start? I have only had this car for a few months and still can not figure out how to work it!

“It can be tricky to learn how to use all the unique features of a new car! However, if your vehicle has a remote start, there are a few ways to locate where it is.
The first place is on the key fob itself. The key fob should have buttons that:
Lock the car
Unlock the car
Pop the trunk
Start the car
If you don’t see a start option, check the user manual in the glove box. Most of the time, used cars come with the original user’s manual.
Another option is to grab the VIN number from your
or the window sticker and do use the VIN to search for different features. Try a website like Carfax that lists car features specifically associated with the VIN.
Worst case scenario, give the dealership a call. The dealer will have the car’s features on file and can direct you on how to use them.
