How can I remove sunscreen from my car's interior?
I recently went to the beach and didn't realize that my sunscreen had spilt. The bottle exploded and got all over my backseat. How can I remove the sunscreen from my car?

Oh no! While the smell of sunscreen may remind us of summer, I’m sure you don’t want it lingering in your car. Thankfully, with a few supplies and simple steps, you can remove the sunscreen.
To start, you’ll want to gather:
- Warm water
- Soap (dish or laundry detergent)
- A bucket
- Ammonia
- A sponge
- Towel
First, fill your bucket with warm water and add a few drops of dish soap and ammonia. Then, dip the sponge into the bucket and scrub wherever there is sunscreen.
The ammonia should cut through the waterproof and
greasy barrier
of the sunscreen, allowing you to easily remove whatever has soaked into your car’s interior and backseat. Continue to scrub until you’ve removed the sunscreen. Then, take your towel and blot the area to remove any excess water and moisture.
If you still notice a stain after the area has fully dried, try using an upholstery cleaner. Since you’ve removed most of the sunscreen, the upholstery cleaner should remove any remaining stains.
