How can I protect my leather seats from my dog?

My dog has long claws and is constantly digging into my leather seats when we run errands. I try to keep them trimmed, but they just keep growing! I love her to death, but I want to keep my car as long as possible and these seats weren't cheap. How do I protect my leather seats from my dog?

“This is definitely a familiar problem for anyone with a canine companion! The best way to protect your leather seats from your dog is to use a blanket or seat cover; they’re cheap, easy to install, and easy to wash!
You may also want to invest in a restraining device for your dog, such as a tether, a crate, or even a doggy car seat. When unrestrained, pups can run around in the backseat without supervision, which can
cause an accident
.
It can be tempting to give them free rein, but doing so can put you both in danger—and even setting aside the danger, if you’re in an accident, your
car insurance
rates will rise quite a bit.
Although you should keep your pup properly secured while in a car, if you’re worried about potentially increasing insurance rates, you can always look to make sure you have all the coverage you need at the best price point. An easy way to do this is by using the
Jerry
app—we’ll get you customized quotes from multiple top-of-the-line providers to make sure you (and your dog) are protected for any eventuality. If you do want to switch to a new plan or provider, we’ll help with that, too!
Best of luck to you with insurance shopping—and with your little dog, too!”
