How can I cancel my Progressive insurance policy?

Is it hard to cancel a Progressive insurance policy? I sold my car a few months ago and forgot to cancel the insurance! I was set up on automatic payments, so I have paid them for a few months and didn't own the car. I don't plan on getting a new one anytime soon.

“Don’t worry, this happens all of the time and
Progressive
agents can help you!
You can often
cancel a Progressive policy
over the phone or in their app’s chat feature. However, since it has been more than 30 days, there will be a little more to the process.
Progressive will need to know the car is no longer in your possession. You can prove this by emailing them one of the following:
  • Bill of sale
  • License plate surrender
  • Copy of the title transfer
I suggest uploading the document to your phone or computer and then starting a chat with a Progressive agent. They can tell you where to send it and you will be all set!
When it is time to shop insurance for your next car, give
Jerry
a try. As a licensed broker, Jerry does all the hard work of finding the cheapest quotes from the top name-brand insurance companies and buying new car insurance. Jerry will even re-shop your policy for each renewal to make sure you always get the best rate!”
