How can I buy the Tesla extended warranty?

I’ve been driving my Tesla Model X for a month and I’m already in love. I’ve been toying with the idea or purchasing the extended warranty. How can I do that?

Happy to hear you’re loving your Model X! You can buy the Tesla extended warranty at your nearest Tesla Service Center as long as it’s no later than one month or 1,000 miles past the expiration of your basic warranty.
Your new Tesla already comes with a 4-year, 50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, but you can purchase an extended warranty that will cover an additional 2 to 4 years, or 25,000 to 50,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Tesla only offers its extended warranties, or what it calls “Extended Service Agreements,” for the Model X and Model S. The price you’ll pay for the extended warranty will depend on when you purchase it.
  • 2-Year Extended Service Agreement: $2,900 if purchased in 180 days; $3,500 if purchased after 180 days
  • 4-Year Extended Service Agreement: $5,750 if purchased in 180 days; $6,350 if purchased after 180 days
