What size are standard three-car garages? My wife and I are buying a new house with a three-car garage. I want to plan the layout ahead of time, but I don’t know exactly how big three-car garages usually are.

Planning ahead is always a good call. As a general rule, three-car garages are around 32 feet wide and 22 feet deep. Altogether, that should give you a 704 square foot garage!
While that sounds like plenty of room, your planning should revolve around the number of cars you’ll be storing. If you have three cars, you’ll only have around three extra feet of space between each vehicle and the walls. If you only have one or two cars, you should have plenty of extra space for projects!
