Have there been any Subaru WRX recalls?

I just found a great deal on a Subaru WRX, but I want to make sure it’s a safe model before I commit. Does the WRX have any recalls?

Good thinking! After all, even the most highly-rated vehicles aren’t immune to getting recalled now and then. The Subaru WRX has only had three recalls—and all of them are for minor issues.
Here’s the lowdown on each of the recalls:
  • 2015–2021 models: Subaru issued a recall for certain 2015–2021 WRX vehicles due to a faulty backup light switch, causing the rearview camera not to work.
  • 2018–2020 models: In 2020, Subaru issued a
    fuel pump
recall for various models, including the WRX. The low-pressure fuel pumps were prone to failure, which could lead to a stalling engine.
  • 2022 models: In 2023, Subaru recalled over 4,600 2022 WRX models due to errors in the owner’s manual, which may include the wrong instructions for altering the high-beam assist sensitivity.
If you’re suspicious that your WRX was one of these models, you can
check for a recall
using your VIN. If it qualifies, you can head to your local Subaru dealership to get the necessary
repairs
