Have there been any Pontiac G6 GT recalls?

I’ve been restoring old Pontiac vehicles as a side project and my latest fixer-upper is a G6 GT. Before I start, I’d like to have some history on this model. Were there any recalls for the G6 GT?

Although Pontiac made some cool cars back in the day, not all of them were reliable. There were several recalls for the
Pontiac G6 GT
from 2005 to 2009. The G6 was the replacement model for the once-popular
Pontiac Grand Am
.
These are the G6 GT models years that were affected by recalls:
  • 2009: The transmission shift cable adjustment clip does not fully engage, causing a potential mismatch between the shift position indicator and the actual gear position
  • 2008 to 2009: The transmission cable tabs may break off
  • 2005 to 2009: Sudden loss of electric power steering may occur while driving
  • 2005 to 2009: A faulty Body Control Module may result in improper voltage fluctuations within the Brake Apply Sensor and increase the risk of an accident
  • 2007: Defective front passenger airbag sensor
  • 2005: The owner’s manual improperly identifies the location of child restraint lower anchors
Most of these issues applied to other vehicles as well, including the
Chevy Malibu
,
Chevy Cobalt
, and
Saturn Aura
.
