Have self-driving cars killed anyone?

I’m fascinated by self-driving cars and Tesla’s autopilot feature, but not having a driver seems a bit dangerous. Has a self-driving car ever been involved in a fatal accident.

While self-driving cars were once thought to be a futuristic idea, technology is starting to catch up. But the introduction of self-driving cars hasn’t been without a few fatal incidents. One person was killed by a fully autonomous vehicle in 2018, so yes, self-driving cars have killed people.
Moreover, sensor failures on the Tesla Autopilot mode have resulted in six deaths across the country. However, the total number of fatalities pales in comparison to the number of deaths from person-driven vehicles.
If you’re thinking of purchasing a
Tesla
, just make a note that Autopilot isn’t fully autonomous nor is the full self-driving mode. You still need to be alert and aware when driving.
Full self-driving cars are still quite a few years away from personal use. But in the meantime, make sure you’re saving as much as possible on your car insurance rates. You can review your policy and look around for an affordable insurance policy with the
