Is lane splitting legal in Tennessee?

I love riding my motorcycle whenever I can. However, I’m in the military and I just got transferred to Tennessee. I’m not familiar with the driving laws for motorcycles here, so I’d like to earn more. Can I lane split in Tennessee?

Unfortunately, lane splitting is illegal in Tennessee, and if you’re caught lane splitting, you could get a citation and end up with a fine and points on your license. Furthermore, lane filtering—which is lane splitting when traffic is at a standstill—is also illegal, and could lead to the same penalties. The best plan of action is to avoid lane splitting altogether.
