Does Toyota have a lifetime powertrain warranty?

My friend told me that when he bought his Camry, the local dealership told him he had a lifetime powertrain warranty, although it wasn’t transferable to a second owner. I don’t see any information about this online or on the Toyota website, however. Does Toyota actually offer a lifetime powertrain warranty?

Toyota
does not offer a lifetime powertrain warranty, but that doesn’t mean that your friend is necessarily wrong. Some dealerships offer a lifetime powertrain warranty as one of the perks of buying a car from them or as a limited-time deal to bring people in the door. In most cases, this warranty only lasts for as long as you own the car—it’s not transferable to a second owner.
However, Toyota still has your back in terms of standing by its product. When you buy a new Toyota, you get a five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty, which offers protection against defects in the engine, drivetrain, axles, and transmission.
