That’s a very entertaining show, to say the least. You’re right; it isn’t clear whether or not Top Gear hates electric cars, but it sure seems that way.
The British fast-paced, stunt-filled show, Top Gear, is about a group of gearheads who put ordinary and dynamic vehicles to the ultimate test. They often receive criticism for their disregard for the environment and promoting dangerous stunt driving to their audience.
As for
, they seem to be dedicated to proving that electric cars are useless. So they often attempt to disprove all the features that manufacturers claim make EVs great.
The positive side is that electric vehicles get to prove their validity. However, it’s rumored that if the car should outperform their theories, then the show will bend the rules to confirm their initial assumptions.
So it’s unclear what’s true and what isn’t. Top Gear has even gotten the attention of one of the most famed electric car makers, Elon Musk. In a feud between the BBC show and Musk, he quoted that the show was “completely phony”.”
