Does the Subaru Extended Warranty cover windshield damage?
I have a 2018 Subaru Impreza and noticed a small crack on the top right corner of my front windshield. The new vehicle warranty has expired on my vehicle, but I purchased an extended warranty—will it cover the windshield?

Finding a crack in your windshield is a huge bummer since repairs are often costly! Unfortunately, the Subaru Extended Warranty does not cover windshield damage, which means repair costs will be out of pocket.
The Subaru Extended Warranty plans, called Subaru Added Security® Extended Service Agreements, offer two levels of coverage:
- Classic Plan (8 years/120,000 miles or 10 years/100,000 miles): Coverage for most major components of your vehicle, along with perks like towing services and car rentals
- Gold Plan ((8 years/120,000 miles or 10 years/100,000 miles): More protection with coverage for the air conditioning, steering, electrical components, and brake systems
That said, Subaru offers three maintenance plans—Subaru Equity Shield Optimum Vehicle Protection—that protect specific parts not covered under the basic or extended warranties:
- Tire and Wheel Protection
- Windshield Protection
- Dent and Ding Protection
