Does the DMV do driving tests in the rain?
I am going for my driving test next week, and the weather calls for rain. Does the DMV do driving tests in the rain? Can I choose to reschedule if it makes me nervous?

Good luck with your test! It’s uncommon for the DMV to cancel or reschedule a test because of weather unless it’s extremely severe (hurricane, flooding, freezing conditions, for example). You will need to prove to your examiner that you can drive in the rain.
All you can do is prepare. Here are some things to do if you have to take your driving test in the rain:
- Exercise extra caution while driving.
- Test to make sure you have good windshield wipers and tires.
- To avoid hydroplaning, drive slightly to either side of ruts in the road at reduced speeds.
- Leave additional space between you and the vehicle ahead of you in case you need to come to a sudden stop.
- Stay aware of your surroundings by checking your mirrors every five to eight seconds.
- Achieve the best visibility by using your low-beam headlights.
