You can only flat tow the Jeep Patriot if it’s equipped with a manual transmission and you shift it into neutral prior to initiating the tow. This applies to both the all-wheel-drive and front-wheel-drive variants of the Patriot.
If you don’t have a manual transmission, you still have two other options. You can flat tow the FWD Patriot with either a flatbed trailer or a two-wheel dolly. Just make sure that the front two wheels are off the ground if you use a two-wheel dolly. For AWD versions, only a flatbed trailer will work. Always consult your owner’s manual for more information on proper towing techniques.
