Does PIP cover hospital bills?

Will PIP cover my hospital bill? I have a $5,000 hospital bill from when I was injured in a car accident. I have $10,000 in PIP coverage.

Personal injury protection
covers any medical expenses that you incur after a car accident. This includes:
  • hospital bills
  • lost wages
  • rehabilitation
  • funeral expenses
Depending on where you live, you may also have additional benefits under your PIP coverage.
Since you have $5,000 in medical bills, your PIP coverage should cover all of your costs. Since PIP typically covers any bills related to injuries, the remaining $5,000 could be used if you require future care or appointments related to the injuries you sustained.

carrier is aware of your hospital bill. They’ll likely pay the hospital directly, so you’ll want to make sure they have everything they need.”
