Does my Toyota RAV4 have a blind spot monitor?
I’m thinking about picking up a new SUV for my family, but safety is a big concern for me. Do all Toyota RAV4s include Blind Spot Monitoring as part of their standard equipment?

Safety is a primary concern for most parents when considering a new car or SUV. Toyota’s Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) is one of the main reasons Toyota is consistently one of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s top safety picks.
Blind spots can be especially tricky in SUVs, so Toyota started adding BSMs to many of their vehicles as early as 2014. The BSM uses radar to monitor the sides of your vehicle and warn you if another vehicle gets too close.
BSMs are included on all Standard RAV4s and RAV4 Primes. However, if you’re looking for a Hybrid RAV4, you’ll have to add the BSM as part of an options package on the XLE or XSE trims. BSMs are not available on the RAV4 LE Hybrid.
