Does Michigan have a time limit on filing police reports after an accident?
I was in an at-fault accident. No one involved called the police at the scene of the accident. My brother told me I was supposed to call the police immediately after. Can I still submit a report? Is there a time limit?

, you are required to call the police or submit a report immediately following an accident that involves death, injury, or damages totaling more than $1,000. In this scenario, the state gives you up to three days to file the police report, although doing so immediately is preferential to determine who was at fault and document the accident.If the accident caused less than $1,000 damage and resulted in no injuries, you are not required to file a report. However, doing so may save you trouble down the road if you have more damage to your car than you originally anticipated or if an injury comes on days or weeks later.
