"Does homeowners insurance cover all bites inflicted by dogs?
"
My newly adopted dog is a bit aggressive towards strangers. I'm getting him training to curb his bad behavior, but I want to know if I'll be covered if the worst happens and he bites someone.

“Most homeowners insurance companies offer animal liability coverage. If you have this coverage and your dog bites someone, then your home insurance would cover you against a lawsuit and medical expenses that result from that dog bite.
However, if you got a new dog and you did not notify your insurance company, then they could decline to cover you if the dog is on the list of breeds they will not insure. If you are unsure, it is always a good idea to double-check with your carrier to make sure your dog is insurable with them.
