Does Florida have toll roads?
I’m moving to Florida and have a bit of a hike from where I live to work. I’m not sure which highways I have to take yet, but are there a lot of toll roads?

Florida
has three main toll roads: the Florida Turnpike, Alligator Alley, and the Bee Line Expressway (Orlando to Cape Canaveral). Additionally, certain coastal islands have bridges that require a fee.Here’s some more information on Florida’s toll roads:
- How much do they cost? The fee depends on what section of the toll you’re driving and your total driving distance, but prices are based on vehicle type.
- How can you pay tolls? Signs on the road indicate a toll is approaching and what the fee is. There are several ways to pay for your tolls.
- Can you pay with cash? There are both manned and unmanned cash booths on Florida toll roads; you can get change at manned booths, whereas unmanned cash booths require exact change in coins.
- Can you pay with SunPass? If you’re paying with SunPass, it’ll be scanned by an electronic reader and toll fees are deducted from your prepaid account. With SunPass, you’ll get about 25% off the toll rates and save time. It also works on toll roads in several other states.
- Can you pay by vehicle plate? The Toll-By-Plate option allows you to pay electronically where all-electronic tolling is in effect. A camera takes a photo of your license plate, and you’ll be mailed the toll rate for your travel distance plus a $2.50 service charge.
