We submitted a claim last week for a costly repair. It was approved, but we haven’t been reimbursed yet. How long does home insurance take to pay out?

Sorry to hear about the costly repair! I’m glad your claim was approved. There’s no set period for when your home insurance claim pays out, so it could take a few days to a few months, even if it’s an uncomplicated

. That said, most companies try to have all claims processed and paid out within 30 days. Here are a few factors that may impact your claims processing time:
- How fast you submit your claim
- The complexity of your claim
- How responsive you are when the claims adjuster contacts you
- The company
- Where you live
Additionally, every state has its own rules for insurance payouts and claims processing. For instance,

and Minnesota require companies to pay out within five days after acceptance. In Florida, the range is 90 days.
