Does COBB tuning void the warranty from Ford?
I want to tune my Ford vehicle to get some more torque and horsepower. I’ve been looking at COBB products, as they get great reviews and the results speak for themselves. However, I don’t want to accidentally void my warranty—will a COBB tuning void my Ford warranty?

Whether or not COBB tuning will void your Ford warranty is at the center of a hot debate—while some experts state that tuning the car with a COBB product is protected under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975 that deals with car mods, others argue that the tuning changes fundamental components that can damage the powertrain of your vehicle. A COBB tuning may not void your Ford warranty, but you may have a warranty claim denied as a result.
If you want to tune your vehicle to increase horsepower and torque, go with a safe alternative. A Ford Performance tune will not void the warranty because it’s an official Ford product. However, if you really want to do a COBB tune, wait until your powertrain warranty runs out (five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first).
