Does an out-of-date driving license invalidate your insurance?

Will my car insurance still cover me if my license is expired? I forgot to get my license renewed before the expiration date and now I’m nervous that I’ll have to pay a bunch of money if I get into an accident.

An out-of-date driving license will essentially invalidate your insurance. You won’t be able to make an insurance claim if your
driver’s license
is expired because you can’t legally drive.
On the plus side, your insurer is not likely to cancel your policy due to an expired license. So simply contact the DMV as soon as you can to learn more about the process of getting a new license.
In the meantime, don’t drive with an expired license. Getting caught could mean serious consequences, like hefty fines or even jail time.
When you get your new license, consider getting a better-priced insurance policy, too!
