Does a police report go on your driving record?
What kind of police reports go on your driving record? I’ve been in a few minor accidents (one wasn’t my fault!), and am looking to get new insurance soon. Will *all* the police reports show up on my driving record?

Your driving record plays a huge part in determining how much you’ll pay for insurance, so you are wise to be aware of that fact! The short answer is yes, all police reports from incidents you were involved in will go on your driving record, even if you were not at fault.
That being said, having a not-at-fault accident on your record will generally not have an effect on your insurance rates, so don’t stress too much about those.
How long a police report will stay on your driving record varies greatly by what the offense was and the state where it occurred. Broadly speaking, it can take anywhere from three to 13 years for a police report to drop off your driving record.
