Does a 2008 Ford Fusion have Bluetooth?

My dad passed his 2008 Ford Fusion down to my son as his first car, and he wants to connect his phone and listen to music. Does the vehicle have Bluetooth capability, or will we need to buy an adapter?

We have good news and bad news. The 2008

Ford Fusion

does have Bluetooth capability via Ford SYNC, but it came as an optional upgrade.

The 2008 Fusion came in three trim levels—

,

, and

—with each trim level having different features and capabilities. If you are looking for Bluetooth capability, your Fusion will need to have the Ford SYNC system, an optional feature at the time of purchase.

But even if your Fusion doesn’t have Bluetooth, every trim came with a range of features, including:

Base S trim:

Air-conditioning

A CD/MP3 player with an auxiliary input jack

Cruise control

Full power accessories

Keyless entry

SE trim (all of the S features plus):

A six-way power driver seat

A six-speaker stereo with CD changer

Audio controls on the steering wheel

A faux carbon-fiber trim

SEL trim (all of the SE features plus):

A keyless-entry keypad

Automatic headlights

Automatic climate control

Heated outside mirrors

An auto-dimming rearview mirror

The Ford SYNC system came as a late availability option on the Fusion, so not all models have it. If your Fusion doesn’t have Bluetooth and you want to use that feature, you can buy an external adaptor.
