When is a drinking and driving conviction spent?

How long will a drunk driving conviction stay on my driving record? I’m going to start applying for jobs next year, but I got a drunk driving conviction when I was a senior in high school and I’m worried that I won’t be able to get the jobs I want.

That’s a great question, and important to know for when you start applying. A drinking and driving conviction will usually spend five to ten years on your driving record. However, the charge will also show up on your criminal record, which a potential employer will see.
Some states will allow you to expunge the charge after a certain amount of time has passed, but the charge will remain there forever in most cases. If you’d like to look into the possibility of getting the charge expunged, your best bet will be to hire a
lawyer
with a background in traffic court. The lawyer can talk you through your options and help you with any paperwork.
A drunk driving charge on your record also makes it really hard to find affordable car insurance. The
