I’ve been living in Tennessee for years, and I recently heard they were getting ready to change the license plate. Does that mean Tennessee will require a front license plate?

No. The license plate update in Tennessee does not mean that you will need a front license plate. The new plate is a simple redesign that will come into effect when you update your registration.
Here’s how you get the updated Tennessee license plate:
Visit one of Tennessee’s local county clerk offices or renew online
There is an in-person renewal fee plus $5 if applying through mail
