You can turn on a red light in Delaware unless posted signage indicates otherwise. Before completing the turn, all drivers must come to a complete stop at the red light and abide by the right-of-way laws whenever they are turning right on a red light.
However, if you turn right on a red light at an intersection where it’s prohibited, there are some hefty consequences—and these consequences get more severe for each subsequent offense.
Your first offense could result in a fine between $75 and $230, while any subsequent violations within two years increase the penalties to $100 to $575 or jail time between ten and 60 days.
