Do you have to take a driving test in Texas?

I’m getting ready to move to Texas and I’ll need to get a new driving license when I get there. Will I have to take a driving test in order to do this? I haven’t taken one in a long time and I’m a little nervous!

As long as your license is current, you’ll only be required to retake the driving skills and knowledge tests if you’re under 18 when you move to
Texas
. Otherwise, you’ll be able to get a new license simply by surrendering your old one.
However, if you wait for longer than 90 days after moving to Texas before you apply for a new license, your old license will no longer be considered valid. In this case, you will have to retake the driving test in order to get a new license.
When you move to a new state, you need to update your insurance, too. Check out the
