Do I need to buy supplemental liability insurance from a car rental company?
I'm planning on going on a few trips out west this year, and I don't have a car. I plan on renting one, but I also don't have insurance. Do I need to buy the rental car company's supplemental liability insurance?

“All car rental companies are required by law to provide state-minimum
liability coverage
to their renters. However, state-minimum insurance doesn’t really cover all that much, and it could leave you in financial ruin if you get into an accident.Supplemental liability insurance raises your coverage exponentially, usually to $1 or $2 million. If you’re only going to be driving a few weeks out of the year in a rental car, you should probably take this insurance.”
