Do I need commercial insurance to work for Uber Eats?

For some extra money, I started driving for Uber Eats on the weekend. During one of my deliveries, I got into an accident. Now my insurance company doesn't want to cover me because I didn't have commercial insurance. Do I need commercial insurance to work for Uber Eats?

“Uber Eats provides insurance automatically when you sign the contract. When you’re in the process of delivering food, Uber has insurance that protects you up to $1 million for
liability coverage
.
However, there are some loopholes. Uber Eats between-delivery coverage only covers up to $100,000 for bodily injury and $25,000 for property damage. If you’re in a catastrophic accident, this may not be enough coverage and you’ll be left footing the bill.
Some insurers won’t cover you under a personal policy if you’re driving for business purposes. As a result, you should consider purchasing commercial coverage, and this is easier than ever to do. Many insurers now have commercial
car insurance
for delivery drivers, including GEICO and Progressive.”
